Southern

Interactive audio-visual installation. June 2011.

This interactive piece takes the south coast of England in winter as its subject. Visitors are encouraged to bash, stroke and otherwise explore materials collected from the seaside. Audio visual responses to those materials wired into the gallery space. File under high winds, soggy postcards, new instruments.

Exhibited at the LYDea sonic arts event, New Gallery, London SE15

Two surfaces were mic-ed up and the audio sent through a series of effects, allowing the visitor to interact with the piece. A bed of underwater field recordings plays throughout.
